ISO 50001, titled “Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use,” was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to help organizations of all sizes and sectors manage their energy use more efficiently. The standard was first released in June 2011 and updated in August 2018, with the latest amendments confirmed in 2024.
